MILLING PROCESS: striving for continuous improvement


To show their commitment to quality, each of COOCAFE’s Cooperatives is involved with ISO Quality And Environmental Standards Certification, a guarantee of COOCAFE’s respect for quality and the environment.

In early 2001, Coope El Dos and Coope Montes de Oro also met the certification requirements of the ISO 14001 Environmental standards.

  
Coope El Dos, one of the members of COOCAFE, was the first cooperative in Latin America to receive ISO 9002 Quality certification.
   
  These international standards provide an important guarantee to our buyers. Our milling process follows strict guidelines to protect both coffee quality and the environment, reduce the pollution of the rivers, and diminish fuel consumption.
 
QUALITY CONTROL:
 

Each sample of COOCAFE’s coffee is professionally cupped before it is sent to the client. The coffees are selected according to their characteristics and to the standards of our customers and the market.

 
 
This process allows us to control the quality of the coffee during the production process. Through constant sampling and supervision of the shipping process we can assure the best possible quality. Once approved by the Quality Department, our coffee is sacked and shipped from our warehouse to the port, and then directly to our customers.
